What I would like to offer as a collaborator…

I am interested in how health outcomes are determined, socially, politically and economically, in post-industrial cities in the United States. Specifically, I focus on the various “fundamental causes” associated with racial/ethnic disparities in these communities, focusing on Black, Brown, and indigenous groups, using mixed methods approaches. My work takes a broad view of how public policy, and in particular policy focused on austerity, both embeds particular health outcomes and reproduces social inequality.

What I am looking for from a collaborator…

I hold degrees in sociology and public health and conduct work that speaks to the intersections of these two fields – adopting both a theoretical view and a perspective rooted in real-world applications. I have a growing publication record in the sociomedical sciences, including original research involving mixed methods, and I have roughly 10 years of experience conducting research and doing research program management in public health organizations – including hospitals, community centers and academia.
