What I would like to offer as a collaborator…

My research focus is to better understand cancer risk and prognosis by incorporating biospecimens and molecular tools in epidemiologic studies. Previously, I led research on cancer in the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) cohort for the last 14 years, including work on lifestyle risk factors, biomarkers, genetics and gene expression. At Weill Cornell Medicine, I am Division Chief of Epidemiology in the Department of Population Health Sciences and the Associate Director for Population Science at the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center. I am interested in developing collaborative relationships with an interdisciplinary group of investigators to study cancer risk and survival with the goal of reducing morbidity and mortality in the catchment area. I am very interested in designing studies to better understand cancer disparities and assess interventions to improve health equity.

What I am looking for from a collaborator…

I have extensive experience as a cancer epidemiologist. I am interested in collaborating and/or mentoring others who could benefit from an epidemiologist on their team. As the Division Chief of Epidemiology in the Department of Population Health Sciences education and mentoring are very important to me and as our division grows we aim to play a larger role in education related to training in epidemiologic methods and study design. As the Associate Director for Population Science at the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center, I lead the Cancer Prevention & Control program. Recently, we developed working groups that have the primary aim of building interdisciplinary collaborations and prioritize projects aimed at the needs of our cancer center catchment population. I am interested in networking and collaborating with others at the Center who are interested in cancer prevention and control.
