My three major areas of research have been: (1) conducting implementation studies to increase health and health equity in rural communities in Tanzania, (2) determining the relationship between schistosome infection and mucosal immunity in women in Tanzania, and (3) investigating evidence-based strategies to retain and promote women scientists to leadership in global health. I am deeply committed to mentoring trainees interested in global health careers both from the US and from low and middle income countries.
