What I would like to offer as a collaborator…
My research interests involve looking at health equity specifically with minority and underrepresented youth and adolescents. As I gear towards applying to medical school, I am interested in techniques and opportunities to ensure that I am culturally competent in both public health and healthcare in general. My interests further include community health interventions and behavioral interventions related to decision making.
What I am looking for from a collaborator…
My experiences at Miami University (OH) include 4 years of intensive research in the Behavioral Neuroscience Department looking at decision making and risk/reward benefit associated with alcohol/drug use and abuse. This combined with my classwork training as a Public Health major at Miami have equipped me with a wide framework of experiences involving Public Health Planning, Communication, Education, and Promotion, that I hope to advance with membership. Specifically, I am looking to connect with individuals to become mentors as I gear towards applying to medical school as well as mentors to potentially conduct research with while in my time in the Master of Public Health program.
