What I would like to offer as a collaborator…
I was referred by Dr. Elizabeth Fox to join the Cornell Center for Health Equity to explore my research interest areas of barriers to public health education that present in some rural populations; namely, why some rural populations do not implement what they have learned through public health education. Other research areas of interest include the intersection of social connectivity and experiential education, efforts related to obesity prevention, food sovereignty, food security, and food sustainability, the nutritional and ecological benefits of plant-based diets, and efforts relating to eradicating food shame.
What I am looking for from a collaborator…
My research and experience focus on removing barriers that prevent populations (predominantly rural ones) from achieving good health. By gaining a better understanding into the needs of rural populations, along with the health disparities that present in those populations, strategies can be developed to effectively help public health professionals meet those needs.
I look forward to engaging with other members, learning about their research efforts, and would like to potentially collaborate on research projects.
