What I would like to offer as a collaborator…
My research efforts focus on educational and health equity interventions that improve access, equity and diversity in science and medicine. Current projects include developing a tool to assess diversity climate at academic medical centers, and understanding the factors that influence the career decisions of women and underrepresented trainees, graduate and medical students. What I am looking for from a collaborator…
I am a basic biomedical scientist by training, spending the early part of my career studying the transcriptional regulation of the glucocorticoid receptor in an attempt to better understand stress regulation in the brain. However, I’ve gained skills in social science research methods in order to better understand challenges in areas of diversity, equity, and student development. Additionally, my role in the diversity office affords me an opportunity to implement programs and policies that support diversity, access, equity, and inclusion. I am very interested in finding other collaborators and enhancing the educational impact of the center in our academic and local community.
