What I would like to offer as a collaborator…
Currently mobile health (mHealth) is poised to dramatically improve chronic disease management but may also exacerbate existing health disparities due to lack of tailored interventions for underserved populations. My research focuses on developing and implementing mHealth solutions that support self-management for a diverse range of patients living with chronic conditions. I am particularly interested in leveraging patient-generated health data collected with mHealth to generate important insights that can inform clinicians in practice and patients self-managing in their daily lives towards the goal of reducing the burden of chronic disease on society the healthcare system and individual quality of life.
What I am looking for from a collaborator…
I have received public health and informatics training and practiced for several years as a registered nurse in New York City. My goal is to engage in rich discussions surrounding health equity at the Center and collaborate across disciplines. This will advance a major career aim of mine to better understand health equity and develop and implement mobile health solutions that seek to reduce disparities in chronic disease management and care. I hope that my unique blend of nursing public health and informatics experience will contribute positively to Center seminars and offer opportunities for productive collaborations.
