Health Equity/Research Interest
My research seeks to understand dietary behavior to ultimately improve nutrition and health. My primary research examines food choice for young children children through an analysis of social networks and the food environment in rural settings. In my current role as a Postdoctoral Associate, I work under the mentorship of Associate Professor Laura Bellows to develop a digital intervention to support parents of preschool-aged children living in rural New York and Colorado with healthy eating and physical activity behaviors in the home environment.
Expertise/Goals
I am committed to advancing science that better understands drivers of dietary behavior among populations with limited resources, especially among Latin-heritage populations. I value building and maintaining collaborations with diverse stakeholders, including disseminating findings to various audiences. I want to connect and collaborate with peers at various stages of their career who share a genuine passion to improve the health and overall wellbeing of those with greatest risk to their health.
