Health Equity/Research Interest

My current research is focused on the equitable delivery of Hepatitis C treatment to people who use drugs. I am studying the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of accessible care delivery models for this population by integrating HCV treatment into substance use care. I am developing skills in mixed-methods health services research related to this issue: my recent work investigates the impact of Medicaid policies that restrict reimbursement for HCV treatment access and public health strategies to overcome it. The Center for Health Equity can help provide mentorship in research approaches for studying equity guidance in constructing community-focused and participatory research and build collaborations focused on resolving health disparities through research and action.

Expertise/Goals

As a junior investigator in Infectious Diseases and in Healthcare Policy and Research I am eager to create research synergies with Center investigators. With the help of my mentors I am developing skills in mixed-methods health services research economic evaluations of healthcare interventions and in research related to infectious diseases and substance use disorder. These skills can be used to collaborate on Center projects. As a member I hope to gain mentorship in research approaches for studying equity guidance in constructing community-focused and participatory research and build a network of like-minded investigators with whom I can develop new avenues for research and care.
