Health Equity/Research Interest
JP conducts research on user engagement and behavior in health technology applications across multiple health and wellness contexts. His primary research focus is on improving data collection methods particularly the usability sustainability and reliability of patient-reported outcomes. This often includes working with patients and clinicians to develop streamlined visual reporting tools to replace or supplement standard assessments.
JP Pollak is a Senior Researcher in Residence and Cornell Tech and Weill Cornell Medicine. He is also the co-founder of Curiosity Health whose mission is to enable any researcher or clinician to incorporate mobile apps into their work. Recently he has led the development of several visual self-report tools for health and health related behavior including PAM the Photographic Affect Meter. JP has developed numerous gold standard analytical and data collection applications architected software for startups acquired by the likes of Pfizer created the award winning Wellcoin wellness platform and earned his PhD in Information Science from Cornell University. I look forward to working with center members to use mobile and digital technologies to learn more about the daily lives of the populations they work in.
