Health Equity/Research Interest

I Chair the National Extension Climate Initiative, am the Cornell Cooperative Extension Critical Issue Lead for Climate and Energy, and have long served in various roles in the world of municipal planning (e.g. currently as Chair of the City of Ithaca Sustainability and Climate Justice Commission) . I’m involved in several levels of discussion, including with the Vet College’s MPH program, about the extent to which greater collaboration could be created between the networks working on public and community health and those working on climate mitigation and adaptation. As you would note from my positions, I’m especially interested in the roles that the local, state and national Cooperative Extension System does and could play at this intersection. In light of his new national role within Extension, I will be meeting shortly with Adam Hughes on this topic.
