Health Equity Symposium attracts support from medical and tech communities
The 2018 Cornell Tri-Campus Health Equity Symposium, sponsored by the Cornell Center for Health Equity, attracted more than 100 guests from the medical and technological sectors. The symposium addressed the full spectrum of health equity, from clinical research and basic sciences, to building academic community partnerships in support of scholarly projects.
The event was hosted by Co-Director Dr. Monika Safford (Division Chief, General Internal Medicine, WDOM) and Dr. Avery August (Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at Cornell University). The keynote speaker for the event was the distinguished Dr. David Satcher, who served as the 16th Surgeon General of the United States, the 10th Assistant Secretary for Health in the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
