Health Equity/Research Interest
Dr. Gariepy is the newly appointed Director of Complex Family Planning at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her research focuses on developing and testing innovative, multi-faceted strategies for decreasing unintended pregnancy in marginalized populations, with specific focus on permanent contraception, the effect of unintended pregnancy on women, cost and contraceptive provision, and digital health interventions to improve reproductive health. She is the Principal Investigator of a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) award, “Real world effectiveness and safety of hysteroscopic (Essure®) compared to laparoscopic sterilization.” Dr. Gariepy serves on the Society of Family Planning’s Board of Directors and the Complex Family Planning Fellowship Council.
