Health Equity/Research Interest

My primary interest centers on working with communities on the ground. In learning the stories and experiences of members of the community, I seek to understand the larger structural factors that contribute to illness and disease and hope to bring attention to addressing the root causes through preventative measures. I am passionate about maternal and child health and issues surrounding nutrition and hope to utilize my training to serve populations that are underserved in health care and access to resources locally and globally.

Expertise/Goals

I will bring my experiences working with the Reproductive and Child Health program at a non-governmental organization and partnering with students and professors on nutrition and food systems in Ghana. Through these experiences, I have gained exposure to qualitative and quantitative research methods and awareness on issues I am highly driven to address in my future career. As a member of the Center, I hope to develop myself professionally by interacting and collaborating with other members and to seek mentorship and advice for a medical and research career advancing health equity.
