Health Equity/Research Interest

I have been working with and researching the healthcare of the homeless immigrants and refugees since the mid 90’s. I have developed related training curricula for public health students medical students and residents and participated in related advocacy and policy making at the national and international level. My current research focus is in health disparities curriculum development and cancer screening and chronic disease management in the homeless. My international research is related to cervical cancer screening in low resource setting and refugee health. A major theme in all my clinical educational and research work is health equity.

I have extensive leadership experience in national and international organizations and professional associations that relates to global health and population-based medicine. My wide range of experience in developing service programs educational curricula and research in these fields will bring added value to the current faculty and resources at the center. I am looking forward to collaborating and networking with other members in the center to advance my research and educational work and to contribute to the centers goals and objectives.
