Health Equity/Research Interest

I am a primary care clinician educator at the only community based teaching site for our Internal Medicine Residency training program. I also co-direct the Psychosocial Curriculum, a year-long series of seminars offered to our PGY-1 class with emphasis on the biopsychosocial model of health, relationship centered communication skills, identifying social determinants of health, cross-cultural health practices, and how heath inequities can impact health outcomes and the management of chronic diseases. I enjoy my clinical practice, the opportunity to teach, mentor and expose residents and medical students to the rich world of community based practice and the wide array of possibilities for community engagement. Most recently I have been working with our Diversity Center of Excellence’s premedical and pipeline initiatives.

Expertise/Goals

I am interested in collaborating with and learning from collaborators, strategies for social determinants of health and cross-cultural care curriculum development. I am also looking forward to the possibilities for new ideas for strategic development and enhancement of pipeline programs.
