Membership Criteria and Benefits


Academic Member


Membership Criteria
• Faculty members of any college or school of Cornell University who conduct research in health equity or have an interest in health equity
• Members are expected to participate in program activities and serve on committees as requested. All Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq) members are expected to contribute to the  mission and goals of the Center through support of CCHEq activities.

Benefits
• Be part of a community of talent and resources dedicated to health equity
• Find collaborators for your projects – academic members will have a photo and a brief paragraph about their interests and expertise on the Center’s website
• Receive announcements related to health equity
• Be eligible to compete for grants as Principal Investigator sponsored by the Center
• Receive and provide mentorship

Membership Responsibilities
• Willingness to interact scientifically with other CCHEq members, especially within CCHEq Cores
• Service to the CCHEq through participation on committees and/or through public outreach
• Willingness to collaborate on publications and extramural research grants in areas of interest
• When appropriate, acknowledgement of CCHEq support in research publications
• Mention of CCHEq affiliation in relevant media and other marketing outlets
• Participation at scheduled CCHEq functions


Affiliate Member


Membership Criteria
• Faculty members of any institution affiliated with any college or school of Cornell University who conduct research in health equity or an interest in health equity
• Members are expected to participate in program activities and serve on committees as requested. All Cornell Center for Health Equity (CCHEq) members are expected to contribute to the mission and goals of the Center through support of CCHEq activities

• Be part of a community of talent and resources dedicated to health equity
• Find collaborators for your projects – affiliated members will have a photo and a brief paragraph about their interests and expertise on the Center’s website
• Receive announcements related to health equity
• Receive and provide mentorship

Membership Responsibilities

• Willingness to engage with CCHEq through participation on committees and/or through public outreach

Community Member


Membership Criteria
• Partner organizations must be located in New York State
• Members should represent a non-profit organization, Title I school, government agency, or outreach program
• Members should represent an organization with a health, human service, and/or community development mission

Benefits
• Connect with faculty in New York City and Central New York State who have a deep-rooted commitment to outreach, extension, and partnership to achieve health equity throughout New York State and beyond
• Develop partnerships with scientists to apply for grants to conduct research on how to achieve health equity
• Receive announcements related to health equity research, education, and advocacy
• Promote your organization’s events relevant to our broad membership through our listserve
• List your organization’s logo prominently on the Community Partners page of our website
• There is no cost to become a member

Membership Responsibilities
• Interact with other CCHEq members
• Participate on CCHEq committees and/or through public outreach
• Acknowledge CCHEq support, when appropriate, across all media
• Mention CCHEq affiliation in relevant media and other marketing outlets
• Participate in scheduled CCHEq events
• Share knowledge and information on lessons learned, success stories, case studies, program results and policy approaches that help to accelerate action towards health equity


Student/Trainee/Staff Member


Membership Criteria
• Be a staff member of any college or school of Cornell University who has an interest in health equity
• Be a full or part-time undergraduate, medical, masters, or PhD student at any college or school of Cornell University and Hunter College who has an interest in health equity
• Be an intern, resident, or fellow in any Cornell University training program who has an interest in health equity

• Be part of a community of talent and resources dedicated to health equity
• Find employment, scholarship and summer internship opportunities
• Receive announcements related to health equity
• Receive mentorship
• Conduct health equity research with the guidance of a mentor
• Learn about and participate in community-partnered research to achieve health equity

Membership Responsibilities
• Interact with other CCHEq members
• Participate in scheduled CCHEq functions
• Cite the CCHEq in any publications or presentations stemming from CCHEq sponsored programs or internships
